Dr APJ Abdul Kalam with my Grandfather Shri Sadanam Kumaran |
It was 2006, in Switzerland, I was earning well and was lucky that I had a good career in Software Development and lead a comfortable life. But then, even after getting promotions, professional certifications, perks and other prospects; I was not at ease, not in peace with myself, troubled by a brewing mind constantly making me feel "fish out of water".
Everything changed for me, including my destiny, when I stumbled upon your article published in the India empowered series during 2005. I was instantly attracted to your thoughts you outlined in the article like the "bee to the honey". Maybe, years of influence of our Grandpa, in us: on rural development, empowering the poor and needy etc was lying dormant and it took your article to spur us into action.
Taking a cue from your article I took the plunge: inviting my fellow NIELITians to join me in setting up AMBERSAND - a software development company in 2006 in Switzerland. We later upgraded and renamed the company to www.lxisoft.com. Today, operating from a Gandhian Campus in Palakkad, Kerala, while we toil hard to make our dreams come true, we remember with utmost humility and respect the spark that kindled the fire in us. This day, when your mortal life has transformed into an immortal spirit, we promise you to keep your spirit kindled through our hearts, minds, and actions.
